Well, you know… more of the same!

I thought I was about done, then I remembered about the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique!

Disneyland 191

That is a place where princesses can get their hair done.  They get their hair done by fairy godmothers in training and they get a tiara and have their makeup done and get their nails painted.  I mean, come on!!  I’m a, I mean, she’s a princess!!  We had to do it!!

Disneyland 194

All a part of  the beauty process!

Disneyland 206

The final product.  After this I let her put her mermaid costume on and let her walk around the park all afternoon dressed up.  When you’re 5, the idea of standing out doesn’t occur to you.

That night I took my mom and the Princess to Ariel’s Grotto for dinner as a late birthday present, since their birthdays are in March and only a week apart.  In Ariel’s Grotto, there are 4 princesses that come around to your table to talk to you and have their picture taken with you.  I called the day before to make reservations and they only had two seatings left, and they were both on the patio.  That probably would have been fine in nice weather, but it was cold that night!  My mom and I were freezing.  I’m not sure that the princess even noticed, since about every 10 minutes a princess came to the table.  She was in hog heaven.

So much fun.

Tomorrow I’ll post pictures from what was probably G-man’s favorite part, Legoland!!

And … more pictures

I’m just having too much fun posting pictures!

Disneyland Vacation 180

In California Adventure they had a Bug’s Life 3D show.  It was with all the Bug’s Life rides which were geared towards younger kids.  When we saw the sign before we went in that said “May be frightening for small children” we thought, “This is Bug’s Life, how scary can it be?  Well, apparently it can be pretty scary.  I thought that it was actually pretty cool.  It was an interactive 3D show, so when the termite tried to spray his acid on you, you actually had water squirt on you.  When the stink bug sprayed you, it actually smelled in the theater.  I thought it was fun.   The Princess was not quite as amused as we were.  Once the water sprayed, she was done.  The good thing was, the movie was pretty loud, so it drowned out her crying.  Don’t worry, it didn’t last very long after she started crying, and I held her on my lap to comfort her, so I’m not a horrible mother, but I certainly didn’t take her out, because I wanted to see the rest of it!

Disneyland Vacation 181

After the trauma (or excitement, depending on your point of view) of the Bug’s Life show, we went on some of the tame Bug’s Life rides.  And boy, were they tame.  But the Princess (and G-man for that matter) loved them.  Sometimes you have to take one for the team.

Disneyland Vacation 202

On the morning of our third day at the park, I realized that I hadn’t taken the Princess to Pixie Hollow yet to see Tinker Belle!  So first thing that morning we lined up to see her.  Since it was still early, we only had to wait about 15 minutes.  Tinker Belle was sooo cute.  When we told her that Princess was her for Halloween last year, she asked, “what’s Halloween?”  Get it?  She lives in Pixie Hollow, she wouldn’t know what Halloween is!

I got each of the kids a cheap digital camera before we left and I made them lanyards to hang them from.  While Tinker Belle was talking to the Princess, she asked her about her camera and took a picture of them together with it.

042

So stinking cute!!  I just laughed when I saw her do that.  The camera was still around the Princess’s neck when she took it, so that’s why it’s such a close up.

Disneyland Vacation 239

This is actually a picture that the Princess took with my camera.  She didn’t do too bad!

Alright, that’s probably enough for today.  I have lots more, though!  Just prepare yourselves!

Drum roll please…

Disneyland Vacation 100

We didn’t have to stand in line very long for much, but we did have to stand in line an hour and a half to see the princesses, but Idon’tevencare.  It was so worth it.  I don’t know if it was more for me or her, but we both enjoyed it.

Disneyland Vacation 118

When we all met back up, we went to the Innoventions display.  Since Disney owns ABC, it was basically a big commercial for ABC shows, but whatever, TRMinator was picked to be a contestant in their little game show.  Bummer for him he didn’t win anything.

Disneyland Vacation 138

While the others went to go some some more rides, my dad and I took the G-man to Mickey’s house to meet Mickey Mouse.

Disneyland Vacation 143

I’ll post the pictures from Disney California tomorrow.

On a side note, I haven’t scrapbooked for at least a year.  Now that I have all these fun pictures, I’m ready to scrapbook again.  Maybe I’ll just print out this blog and count that instead!

We are back! Now for the pictures….

I have been putting off writing this post for most of the day.  Besides the fact that I have been doing laundry and running errands and all the miscellaneous things that need to get done when you get home from a vacation, I haven’t wanted to sit down and blog yet.  I think it’s because the idea of a post that will encompass a week’s vacation is a bit overwhelming to me.  How can I fit everything in?  I’m not sure I will, so I think I will break this up into several days.

In case anyone is confused and needs to be caught up, we just spent a week in the happiest place on earth, Disneyland.  Let me just say, it might have been the happiest place on earth, had it been warm and sunny.  It was kind of cold and a little rainy the whole time we were there, which was like a doubled edged sword, since it was kind of icky, it helped keep the crowds away, but it also wasn’t extremely pleasant for us either.  Regardless, we still had lots of fun.

Disneyland Vacation 048We started out by first going to the beach.  We stopped and spent the night in Las Vegas, so we only had a 4 1/2 hour drive on Sunday.  Instead of going straight to our hotel, we went to Redondo Beach.  We walked around the pier and the kids got to dig in the sand and play on the beach.  Now they can officially say that they have played in the Pacific Ocean.

Disneyland Vacation 018After we had our fill of the ocean air, we went back to our hotel, got settled in and waited for my mom and dad to get there.

The next day we went to Disneyland!

Disneyland Vacation 050

I had gotten a book that had a touring plan in it.  It told you which rides to hit first and gave you a schedule for the day.  I decided at the last minute not to use that because I knew that if we got off schedule and the kids wanted to do something else, that I would stress out till we got back on the prescribed schedule.  So we just winged it, and it worked out pretty well!  The first couple of hours we just walked on whatever rides we wanted and rode pretty much everything that was in the area that we were in.  Towards the end of the day we had to wait a little bit, but not more than 20 minutes, max.

Disneyland Vacation 054(Not quite sure what TRMinator is doing here)  This was the Finding Nemo ride, that my book said would have a long wait no matter what time you rode.  I think we stood in line for about 15 minutes.

Disneyland Vacation 059Getting ready to drive the cars in Autopia!  G-man thought it was pretty cool that he got to drive his own car.  We went on this ride again the last day we were there, and they had to make an announcement that the cars don’t run as well when it’s cold.  (The weather was definitely the best on the first day!)

Disneyland Vacation 074   While the big kids (Hubby, TRMinator and Grandma) rode Space Mountain, I took the Princess through Sleeping Beauty’s castle and my dad took G-man to an arcade.  He played the claw machine and won yet another stuffed animal.  I seriously don’t know how that kid does it!

I’m starting to run out of space.  I knew I couldn’t make this short and sweet, so I will save the rest for tomorrow, and probably the next day, and possible the next.  I’ll try not to let the blog posts take as long as the trip itself!  (I’m not guaranteeing anything!)

Random thoughts

Why is it that I can plan a trip and be excited about it, but once it’s time to go, I don’t want to go anymore?  I think it’s because I don’t like the traveling part.  If I could snap my fingers and be there, that would be lovely.  I know I’ve said this before, but I am not a good traveler.  I think my kids are actually better than me!  I know, that’s really sad.

--------------------------------

Why is it that people wait until April 15th to file their taxes?  And why on earth is the government enabling people to be procrastinators by keeping the Post Offices open till midnight?  I understand people that have to pay taxes wanting to wait as long as possible to file, but even if you owe, you don’t have to pay when you file.  You just have to pay by April 15th.  Sometimes I just really don’t understand other people’s thought process.

------------------------------

Why is it that the Princess likes to eat pepperoni pizza, but pulls all the pepperoni’s off and eats them separately?  That, I believe is a question that the world will never have an answer for.

We are a bunch of drama queens around here

I took TRMinator and the Princess to the doctor this morning for their 7th grade and Kindergarten shots, respectively.  TRMinator only needed two, so he got off fairly easily.  The Princess got 5.

TRMinator handled his pretty well.  I mean, he didn’t cry or anything!  Although on the way home he said he thought his arm was swelling up. (it wasn’t)  The Princess has been a different story.  Now, granted, she had 5 shots and I’m sure at least some of them are pretty sore.  I am just laughing (to myself) every time I see her walk around.  She limps now, and it’s a pretty dramatic one at that.

I can’t wait to see how she reacts tomorrow when her leg will actually be stiff and sore.  She has school, so hopefully that will take her mind off of it.  If not, heaven help me.  I’m going to need it to deal with her!

Princess drama and some random stuff

The other night as the kids were going to bed, they had just finished saying their prayers when the Princess started crying.  We looked over to find her like this.

Easter10 113

She was crying, “I’m the littlest in our family!!”  After we explained to her that she was the youngest, and so that made her the littlest and that was okay, she seemed to cheer up.  Especially after Hubby got the camera to take her picture.

That’s how life goes when you have a princess in your house.  One minute drama, and the next it’s gone.  Sometimes it almost gives me whiplash!

-----------------------

On a different note, I have strep throat.  I started coming down with it on Wednesday.  By that afternoon I was pretty sure that I had it, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to get a regular appointment  with the Dr. till the next day.  Our clinic is open till 9:00pm for after hours care, but the copay is $20 more.  Hubby asked me if I wanted to go in that night, but I told him, “Are you kidding me?  I’m not spending 20 extra bucks!  I’ll wait till tomorrow!”

This must be a pretty bad case too.  I thought I had the flu also, but apparently the throwing up, and aches and fever and chills can be symptoms of strep, I’ve never had all of those symptoms too.  I went in to the doctor yesterday (with only paying my $15 copay, thank you very much) and got the antibiotic shot.  I thought that I would be up and about and much better today.  I’m really not.  I am still dragging.  And this really sucks.  I don’t get sick very much, so when I do, I’m not very patient about it.

It’s actually kind of a good thing that my kids are home and off track right now.  I don’t have to get up and go anywhere to take them to school or pick them up, and TRMinator is very good and taking care of his siblings.  He has gotten them breakfast for the past couple of days, and made them lunch yesterday.  My friend Sarah brought us dinner last night over my objections.  I told her that TRMinator could make grilled cheese (his specialty) for everyone, and she said that if she got here and found that he had made that, I was going to be in trouble.  (That’s pretty much how you have to deal with me if you want me to accept help.)

Hopefully I will be better tomorrow because I have to take TRMinator to his first soccer game of the season.  That, and I am tired of being sick!

Finally some Easter pics, part 2

The Easter bunny came to visit our house, and of course, the kids had to have coordinating outfits so I could take some pictures.

Easter10 081

The Princess got a Tinkerbell doll, G-man got some Toy Story Lego army guys (yeah, I didn’t know they made them either, they’re new) and TRminator got some Pokemon cards in his basket.

Easter10 083

She had on capris.  It wasn’t really warm, but it was a heck of a lot warmer then than it is now!  (Did I mention that we got 8 inches of snow 2 nights ago?  Yeah, not fun!!)

Aren’t my boys handsome in those colors?!

Finally some Easter pics, part 1

I’ve been meaning to post something with some Easter pictures for awhile now.  I’ve finally got the pictures pulled off my camera.  Here were their church Easter outfits.

Easter10 009

The day before Easter, we had a big party with Hubby’s side of the family.  We had a big lunch with everyone, then did an egg hunt with all the kids.

Easter10 013

Have I  mentioned that Hubby comes from a big family?  This was only about half the kids.  Hubby is one of 7 kids, and there are 31 grandkids.  My kids have a lot of cousins.

Easter10 029

The Princess after gathering her haul.

Easter10 032

G-man was proud that he found a golden egg.  (Not sure that it actually meant anything, but he was happy!)

After we got all the kids jacked up on sugar and excited from running around outside, we decided it was a good idea to go back into the confines of my MIL’s house and play a dancing game on the Wii.

Easter10 049

My littlest niece danced along the whole time.  It was dang cute.

Easter10 076

My boys rocked it!

Everyone had fun.  More pictures of Easter day tomorrow!
